How do I stop SSMS from stripping my procedures of all comments?

I'm unable to add comments to my sql server objects, e.g. stored procedures. When I do add them and alter the procs, and then re-script the objects, all the added comments are stripped and the formatting has changed. How do I fix this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled SSMS and "Convert user-defined data types to base types" in Options is set to false. I'd appreciate any help as this situation is absolutely unacceptable.

Can you give an example of how you are adding the comments?
Whereabouts in the procedure are you adding them?

It doesn't matter whether I use the slash splat or the double dash. Additionally I've placed both of these before the CREATE/ALTER statements, before BEGIN, and within BEGIN. In short I have tried most of the permutations.

That's odd. I can't think of anything that would do that.

If you are executing CREATE/ALTER statements in a query window in SSMS, then essentially you are making the changes directly on the server, and whatever you put in the body of the procedure should stay there. Are there any database/server level DDL triggers that are stripping this out?
