Spam levels

Spam levels have gone through the roof lately. Have we changed something? Or should we change something?

I think the only thing that has changed apart from me having less time to check in for the past week or so.

I've turned on Recaptcha for new and low-ranking users. Hopefully no one who's been here a while should ever see it, but newbies will need to fill it out to post and sign up. I suspect a lot of the spam is fairly manual, but it might annoy them at minimum.

And I just got it for submitting that, so it works, apart from that bit that stops me seeing it. Oh well.

Can we add certain words to send posts to moderation? Such as 'keto'

Yep, I've added keto, diet, and protein to the filter, they'll go straight to moderation. Have you seen any other frequent ones recently?

Is there any way of getting a filter on the subject line so it rejects / sends to moderation post with a subject that's a URL?

Not currently, no. I could add http to the filters but it applies to subject lines and body text equally.
