SQL Server 2008R2

In SQL Server 2008R2 - which was working perfectly fine. Post windows update - it is giving below error in sql server error log - while starting sql server services.

2018-07-25 11:24:34.69 Server SQL Server could not spawn FRunCM thread. Check the SQL Server error log and the Windows event logs for information about possible related problems.

Please do let me know what can be the issue here?

Was there anything in the SQL Server error log or the Windows event log about possible related problems?

And have you done what was suggested on this line of the log?

The server could not load the certificate it needs to initiate an SSL connection. It returned the following error: 0x80090331. Check certificates to make sure they are valid

It looks as though there were some issues in the latest round of Windows patches. The article here gives a list of affected patches and patches which have been, erm, patched...
