linked server

I have an AS400 linked server in SQL 2016 environment. The connection drops but if you right click on the linked server name and choose properties or test connection. The linked server works again. Does anyone know a solution to this issue a setting maybe? I have two other linked servers that are sql to sql and they do not drop connections it is just AS400 link?

@artistlover - You mention the connection drops. How frequent is it? Does it depend on large queries/small queries? Any error messages you can post?
