version does not change after installing SQL Server 2012 sp4

I have MSSQL 2012 standard Edition SP3 installed on windows server 2008 R2 data center sp1.

I applied the latest SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 4 (SP4) which was released just last week but when I run @@version I get the following:

select @@version

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP3-CU4) (KB3165264) - 11.0.6540.0 (Intel X86) Jun 23 2016 17:45:16 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 6.1 (Build 7601: ) (WOW64) (Hypervisor)

Is there an explanation as to why the version number did not change after applying the SP4. ? Shouldn't the version number be updated to 11.00.7001? Any insight into this issue would be highly appreciated. Thanks!.

Did it complete OK?

Does the server have multiple instances?

What does it show in the error log when the service came back online?

I figured it out. I downloaded the wrong version of the sql2012 sp4 for SQL 2012 32 bit. I was running 64 bit SP4 against a 32 bit.I uninstall the 64 and applied 32 bit sp4 and its all good. Thanks JohnM and sp_lock for your input....
