Can we create a 'user defined role' which we can read all(select permission on tables) databases?

Can we create a 'user defined role' which we can read all(select permission on tables) databases? Does anyone have the script for this? I think this is not possible.

Are you looking to do this with a user defined "server" role or a role within each database?
