Future of database architect (Rdbms)

I have more than 12 yrs of experience in rdbms database architect. I would like to know the thoughts of you guys on the future of the database guys. I guess most of the database professional in my known community are facing the same situation. So i would like to bring this question to a bigger community and would like to know their operations. The questions are 1. What is the future of a rdbms guy as nowadays people are moving towards big data and no sql type pf options 2. How should i/we chanve the path as the industry is not taking us seriously because we are outdated or have little experience on these new technology 3. Everyone need expert. How to become the expert on these new technology so that we get the same salary bracket approx what we are getting as database architect 4. How to gets the hands on experience onthese new technology Thanks Atul
