Upgrade SQL server 2005 to 2008

A server of my company is running SQL server 2005 with 32bit. Now we would like to upgrade it to SQL server 2008 with 64 bit. But the SSRS is running on that server and must run all the time. What should we do to upgrade while keeping the SSRS running? Or it we have to shut down the SSRS, how long will be the down time? Appreciate it.

So you are doing an in-place upgrade? Given any thought to installing a new instance and then migrate things over?
