SQL 2012 Publisher w. SQL 2005 Subscriber

Trying to set up SQL 2012 Publication with one SQL 2005 Subscriber, transactional replication. I've tried creating the subscription on the 2012 Publisher - no luck - Subscriber 2005 does not "understand" SQL 2012 commands and fails with an error stating basically that SQL 2005 does not understand the commands sent by publisher SQL2012 I've tried to create the subscription on the subscriber SQL 2005 as both pull and push - still no luck The subscriber database is in place with all tables already created. I also tried the setup with an empty subscriber database, with no tables, still no luck. Anyone attempted to set up similar replication? I've seen that working and MS also confirms that it should work as long as Publisher & Subscriber are within two major versions. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. RICUser

What is your distributor? What version of SQL Server and what SP's have been applied?
