SSRS gives error BUT SSMS does not

Hi Guys! This is with regards to getting a feedback for the PROD issue which we faced today. - The issue was that users or anybody in the team were not able to access SSRS report through report manager. We were getting the error - cannot connect to the data source 'XYZ'. After struggling a lot the DB found that there were too many sessions running against the target database (using sp_whoisactive command) and the CPU utilization on prod server was 91 to 95 percent. We were able to retrieve the data using SSMS. DB eventually had to restart the sql server and the reports were being accessed. Can anybody explain this conundrum. P.S. - Happy to share more info if you want.

Enable remote errors. tO CHECK more about error. You may also, check Report Server error which error was logged. %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\\\LogFiles\ After this connect Datasource user with the database. Run any script using same parameter which report is using . Hope this will help you.

Thanks Jason. I'll try these settings. Just to answer your question - the issue was not with one particular report, all the reports were not being accessible.
