When is SQL Azure going to go live?

Microsoft seem to be getting close to a potential launch of SQL Azure. As far as I can tell, this amounts to putting SQL Server in the Cloud. Does anyone have any idea of a launch date?

Well, it has, in the last couple of days, gone 'feature complete'. I've been looking at making my tools compatible with it, and there's an interesting set of exceptions as to what will and won't work on azure. But in terms of a general availability release, I don't know.

At the recent PASS conference, Microsoft said it will start billing on Jan 1. The payment won't be due until Feb 1.
