Should Virtual Memory Reservation be set to 75% of RAM?

Is it recommend as best practice to set vm memory reservation to 75% of max memory from sql server. For example i have a sql server 2012 with 32 GB ram. My max memory is set to 28GB, so would I set my memory reservation on VM to 24GB? Thank you.

Not sure sure which hyper-visor you are using but according to the VMWare Best Practices guide (link below) it states to set the reservation the same as what you've allocated to the VM. If the VM has 28GB allocated then set the reservation to 28GB.
