New as a DBA

Hello, I am new to this forum and would like to have your expert opinion. I just finished sql course and try to take the certification exam. While I am getting ready for the exam, I also looking for the opportunities to find a job as a DBA. My questions are: 1. Do I need to be certified to become a DBA? 2. It seems that companies are looking for only experienced DBAs so where is the best place to start as a junior/new DBA? Thank you for your help. AJ.

No you certainly don't need to have a certification but nothing will beat experience. As for a best place, that depends on many variables. The absolute best place is the place that brings you on. Search around and you should be able to find something.
