SSIS copying text file contents to Windows clipboard?
I have an SSIS solution which, along with several other database manipulations, does several individual calculations and appends the results of each to a text file. I then open the text file and copy and paste the contents into an excel spreadsheet which provides a running total of the organisations. The file contents are a simple two column csv format as shown below: Org Id, Org Name No of Students,37 Date of Birth missing,0 Labour force status missing,2 Disability Flag missing,0 Prior Ed missing,0 At School missing,5 Highest School Level Completed missing,0 Year Highest School Level Completed missing,3 While this works fine, I'd love to skip the opening the text file, selecting all and ctl-C steps and have SSIS copy the file contents to the clipboard. (and then maybe later use SSIS to run the excel calcs too!) There's lots of info on copying to and from the clipboard but I haven't found any on writing file contents to the clipboard. Is this actually possible? I had thought about writing each line directly to clipboard as the script runs, but the excel part is designed to handle the data in one chunk. However I guess I could rewrite that if I have to. I'm using SSIS on VS2010, Excel 2007 and SQL2012. Thanks Steve
