Redgate SQL Monitor database

Hi, I am just trying to get a history of how long a query is taking to run. i have looked at the Redgate database directly and have looked at the Cluster_SqlServer_TopQueries_Instances_View view querytext column it does not contain the text. How can i get the details of the text? Many Thanks Anita

Try contacting Redgate [here][1]. They have a support forum as well. This forum (although hosted by Redgate I think) is about more broad SQL Server issues generally, rather than specific vendor database questions. [1]: http://www.red-gate.com/products/dba/sql-monitor/support

I agree. There's no sign of a table or view in there that holds the query for a SQL handle unless they've called that column something else there. My guess is this view is about what's heavy right now and the handle is used to get the details from the plan cache for display. I don't think the query details get stored in the monitor database. But ask Red Gate. They'll know!

Thanks for your reply! I got in touch with Redgate and they advised that the query text is compressed... they do not usually support decompression but have suggested other ways for me to retrive this info which i will pursue

@anitadh Thanks for the feedback Anita. If you're happy with the answer remember to mark it as correct - otherwise it comes out of my pay :-(
