DT_DATE SSIS datatype equivalent in SQL?

I am working on SSIS package where my source query would be dynamic. I have written an expression for the source command query to pick up the data from table when specific conditions are satisfied (the two source columns has metadata DT_DATE and DT_WSTR). When the conditions are NOT satisfied I am firing query to get single NULL row as, SELECT CONVERT(DATE,NULL) AS COL1, CONVERT(NVARCHAR(255),NULL) AS COL2 On adding above query to source I am getting date column's metadata as DT_DBDATE when I am expecting DT_DATE. Is there any DT_DATE equivalent in SQL query that would set my metadata to DT_DATE rather than having DT_DBDATE?
