SQL Server Hardware Specification Calculator

Hello, experts! I need some help from you guys. So here's the thing. I'm looking for a sort of tool, or "calculator" that would help me come up with a hardware (processor, memory etc) requirement for MS SQL Server 2008 R2. Is there such kind of tool specifically from Microsoft? Because upon making some research, there are some calculator but from different sources. By the way, if it's not possible to have it only for SQL Server 2008 R2, might as well for all SQL servers. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the response, Nidheesh. But unfortunately, no. I'm actually looking for a tool that would calculate the hardware specs for me. Something that has input fields and would then give me an output based on my inputs. I found some tool but I want it to be specifically from Microsoft. Is there any? thanks, zhai

I have a best practice of: - internal memory should be at least 10% of the total database size - 1 additional CPU for every 96GB - List item For example: if you have 300GB of data I recommend 32GB internal memory and (300/96)+1= 4CPU (remember: this is a minimal *recommendation*) Other things to consider: - number of concurrent users - dedicated MSSQL server? (of course ...) - usage: OLTP/OLAP/DW Looking forward for an interesting discussion!
