how to reset admin password of windows server

Is there a way to reset admin password without effecting current data? One of my co-workers left the company and changed the password without any notification. My boss asked me to figure out a way to get back the right password. I don't know much about codes, is that possible? thanks

Can you confirm - is it windows server, or SQL Server that you need the administration password to? which version?

If you forgot Windows user password, you can use PCUnlocker or Ophcrack. If you forgot SQL Server password, try to start SQL Server in single user mode and you could then reset SA password http://www.top-password.com/knowledge/reset-sql-server-password-in-single-user-mode.html

If you’ve forgotten your Windows password and you don’t have an install CD laying around, there’s no need to worry. Not only are there half a dozen complicated ways to reset the password, you can do it easily with the Offline Windows Password editor. Of course, if you do have a Windows CD, you can reset your password the easy way with a simple trick.+ Other way you can try [iSeePassword windows password recovery][1] tool, it can easily reset your windows password but not free.
