INSTANCES UNDER SQL SERVER SERVICES ARE EMPTY. HOW TO FIND SERVER NAME OF SSMS 2012?

sorry i dont know wat does that mean, 'locally'? i installed all setup under administrator privilege only

The only other place I would look is the services list of the operating system. You can see if SQL Server is actually installed and running there. It will also show you the name of the instance.

If you've installed SQL Server 2014 you need to use the 2014 version of the Configuration Manager. I'm not sure why, but the 2012 version doesn't show 2014 instances.

I have not installed any 2014 sql related.... only sql server 2012 express edition and installed ssdt. server name of ssms 2012? where to find? procedure?
