error: 01000 [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] [DBNETLIB] ConnectionWrite (send() ).

We are getting this error during an utility erp trying to do a bill print. Other part of error is as below: I/O function:A, mode: 0, on driver: MSS 08S01 [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] Communication link failure I/O function:A, mode: 0, on driver: MSS 25000 [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Invalid transaction state s_sql Begin:AR905S00 AR905S00 May-22-2015 10:09:09 COMMAND: select perf_Bool_Yn from SG00600m WHERE OBJECT_cD = 'um' AND perf_cd = ''HDINQ' PATH = DEF $STATUS = -9 $RESULT = s_SQL END: AR905S00 AR905S00 May-22-2015 10:09:09 Is this a network issue or ODBC connection issue. Anyone who have worked in this kind of error (this happens during trying to do a bill print)

Yes, that is a network connectivity issue. It could be something is misconfigured at the client end or that there is something wrong with your network.
