Asking for storage and SQL Server: how and what to do

my company bought about 50 TB of storage. I have been ask to make use of it. What are the things I should ask (like storage, snapmirror since this is a netapp) and how to make use of it.

If you are the DBA I would ask why did they buy 50TB of storage. I know storage is getting cheaper but to go out and purchase 50TB of storage that you cannot immediately figure out where it needs to go...tells me they could have spent their money on better things.

Yes. I mean, if you don't need 50tb of data, how on earth can you just magically supply 50tb worth of usage. That's pretty backwards.

It's not such a bad problem to have, though!

we are building out a new erp system and getting rid of an old erp system company wide. The older erp system we are already struggling with growth issue , like tempdb, backup files.
