Hi , I have few rld files which I need to upload. It worked on my sql server 2012 edition of sql. same reports when i tried to upload on sql server 2008 it gives error message as The report definition is not valid. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace ' http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded. (rsInvalidReportDefinition) Then I followed below steps To fix this error: •Edit the report RDL (Code View as it is called in BIDS). •Replace the Report header with the following: •Remove the and tags from the report. Note, remove the tags only. Leave all content inside the tag. Don’t forget to remove the closing tags for each of these. •Save the report. You should now be able to upload it. But ended with below error SQL Server Reporting Services Error The report definition is not valid. Details: The element 'StateIndicator' in namespace ' http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2008/01/reportdefinition' has invalid child element 'TransformationType' in namespace ' http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2008/01/reportdefinition'. List of possible elements expected: 'ActionInfo, ToolTip, Top, Left, Height, Width, ZIndex, Hidden, ParentItem, Style, GaugeInputValue, IndicatorStates, StateImage, ResizeMode, Angle, IndicatorStyle, Text, UseFontPercent' in namespace ' http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2008/01/reportdefinition' as well as any element in namespace '##other'. You might be able to hack until it works but you will probably have to repeat the process each time the users want a report changed. I think it would easier and safer to set up a 2008 dev system and re-develop the report there.
