Maintenance plan, Transaction log backups

My sysadmin has setup backup for a erp database(SQL Server 2008). I looked at the maintenance plan for backup and found that the full database is being backed up daily and the transaction log is being backed just on daily basis. How to change the trn log backup to every 30 minutes or 1 hr.

You can change the schedule either through the maintenance plan itself or by finding the job under the SQL Agent menu. In the maintenance plan, if you edit the plan, just next to the Schedule column you'll see a date picker button. Click that and the resulting dialog window will allow you to edit the frequency of the job. Within the SQL Agent job, edit the job, click on 'Schedules' on the left under 'Select a Page'. Edit the current schedule and change the frequency of the job accordingly. Hope that helps!

Agree with @johnM. You can modify the database maintenance plan as he described, or you and ditch the maintenance plan and implement the SQL Server Maintenance Solution by Ola Hallengren. You can find it detailed [HERE]( https://ola.hallengren.com/). This solution can handle your weekly full, daily differential, and log backups as well as you can enable the jobs for consistency checks, index maintenance and add a parameter to the index maintenance to also do statistics maintenance. I recommend this approach over Database Maintenance plans.
