I have sql 2008 sp3 installed but it keeps showing up in Windows update. How can I fix this?

I have Windows server 2008 R2 Standard and SQL Server 2008. I work for a company that manages I.T. for other companies.. We have scripts that check for updates across hundreds of companies and it generates a report if specific updates are not installing correctly with windows updates. When you scan for updates, SP3 shows up and our automatic updates always tries to install it because it is considered an important update. It fails everytime. When I ran a version check on SQL it shows that SP3 is already installed. Here is the version query results. (Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP3) - 10.0.5520.0 (X64) Jul 11 2014 16:11:50 Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) How can I get Windows updates to realize that SP3 is already installed. Thank You

If you have access to Windows update on the machine you can tell it to 'hide' that update which tells Windows Update to ignore that particular update from then on. It can be unhidden as well if you ever need it.
