Can you explain what you want to estimate please? Time to build the ETL process? Size of datawarehouse when filled? Time for ETL to run? Time to design process? Estimate of administration time per month once commissioned? There is a lot to consider in a question as broad as yours is currently.

Appreciate the help and the inputs. Let me elaborate. I am looking for a technical estimation in terms of efforts for following- 1. ETL - For Extract - All inputs available. Help not needed for effort estimation 2. T - Transformation Efforts once the business share the dimensions requirement 3. L - Efforts for loading in to Cube 4. Looking at dashboard format, which parameters need to be considered to arrive at complexity and then derive dashboard development efforts (includes- dev+ test) 5. Migration Efforts

There are frameworks you can use to assist your requirement engineering, but only you and your business domain experts will be able to set a realistic time frame based on how complicated the data you're trying to model it. If you're warehousing then look [BEAM][1]. A lot of the above you should ask your business analysts who are useful for this sort of project planning environment. > only you and your business domain experts will be able to set a realistic time frame This. There are so many variables involved that it's impossible to quantify without detailed knowledge. > use few huge xls sheet as data source This always makes me shudder. You should think very carefully about how you are going to ensure that the spreadsheet data is cleaned and validated. This should be a significant exercise in itself. It's so easy to get carried away with all the exciting stuff like cubes and dashboards that nobody bothers to ensure that the data is actually fit for purpose!
