Can wmi be restarted on a prod server during business hours?,Can Windows Management Instrument be started during business hours

Trying to access Sql Server Config. Manager but its giving an error, Connection to the target machine could not be made in a timely fashion. So after some research, found out that the wmi needs to be restarted to solve the error so now I need to know if the wmi can be restarted on a prod machine during regular business hours? Thank you!

Personally I would say No, especially if you are using windows firewall (based on this [article][1] for Win2003). I'm not saying it couldn't be possible (not a Wintel guru). My cautious side would suggest arranging downtime with the business in order to cover yourself [1]: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa826517(v=vs.85).aspx

Having done this in the past with no ill effect, I was going to say 'yes' :) If there is something in the environment that depend upon it (maybe other programs are successfully connecting via WMI), I would wait until a down time.
