Hi Experts, Please suggest me on how to prepare for sql server dba interview with microsoft. What are the questions/ style of question, they generally ask? Please provide some examples so that i can start preparing accordingly. Thanks.
First of all **congratulations** to you for taking this step into the **DBA** life! You state that you will be interviewing with Microsoft itself but as far as style goes this really varies by job role, interviewing person and job experience level. I would recommend to research the position thoroughly to see what type of candidate they are looking for. Familiarize yourself with both a textbook style answer and also a real world answer. They both accomplish the same thing but very differently. As far as questions that you may be asked, this resource from Pinal Dave is absolutely amazing and covers many areas that you need to know:

I would suggest you to master yourself in TSQL Programming. Suggest you to read TSQL programming books by itzik Ben ban, Storage engine books by Kalen Delaney and if it is related to BI, read books on Professional series books from Wrox publications on SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
