Need to break into IT via using SQL server and query knowledge

Hi Everyone, I am looking to get my first job in IT by using courses I have taken in SQL. Previously from a customer service background. I have taken some course in SQL like the following: 1. Intro to SQL, 2. SQL 2012 Server Administration and have also taken 3. IT Project Management- using MS Project . 4. Business Intelligence with SSRS SQL-Server Reporting Servcies My question is can I break into IT sector with this knowledge or I need to get more credentials? Should I complete a certificate in database administration which my school offers as I am only short of 2 more course in addition to the ones I completed above. Thanks so much for help and advise! Also if you guys can tell me which is more important SSAS, SSRS or SSIS in terms of getting employment.

Refer to these posts. They will be helpful to you in making further plans. Generally speaking, first get a job as SQL Developer, before plunging into BI world. http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1158751-10-1.aspx http://ask.sqlservercentral.com/questions/50930/how-to-get-a-sql-developer-job.html

It is exceedingly rare to find a SQL Server entry level job. You'll generally have to get work doing tech support (usually desktop support) or entry level development and then work your way into SQL Server. And no, unfortunately, training like you describe is not enough in most circumstances to get your foot in the door. You also need experience. Getting that is tough. The recommendation made most frequently is to do database work for local volunteer organizations, churches, etc.
