Open SSRS 2005 report in SSIS 2005

I added a Execute Process Task and entered the following for the parameters. It opens the report but there is an error as follows: The project cannot be debugged because no starting report is specified. In the Project Menu, select Properties and enter a value for StartItem. Once I select my report.rdl for the StartItem Value, the report opens. Is there a way you can do this in SSIS to open the report without doing this? Thanks! Arguments in the task are: devenv /runexit "M:\Active Clients\FedEx\SQLServices\SSRS\FedExReporting\FedExReporting\FedExAuditReport\FedExAuditReport.sln"

If you want the SSIS package to run open the report for a user (which in itself is a strange thing to do as, if the user is there waiting for the package you run they could easily open the report themselves) then you will need to use the Execute Package operator to run a browser and pass in the URL of the report that you want loaded as part of the command. IMO it would be better to add a Send Mail task to the package to email the user that the package is complete and include in the email a report server URL for the user to click. This means they wont have to be at the computer when the package runs (keep in mind that they will have to be logged in to the computer executing the SSIS package so this is probably a server somewhere, not their own PC). They can open their email whenever they want and go straight to the report.

As a frequent developer of SSRS reports, I have to ask... why? Why do you want to open a reporting services report in Integration Services (SSIS)? Or where you say SSIS, do you mean Visual Studio?

I am using an SSIS package to login to an ftp server, copy a file to our staging location and loading the data, and producing reports for production. I thought it would be a good idea to open the Custom report via SSIS so user would not have to look for report to open. I am open to other suggestions. Thanks!

So you're not deploying the report to the ReportServer?

That is correct. It is basically a standalone box. We don't deploy reports.

Since you are a developer, do you know of a good place or website that I could look at if I decide deploy reports to a ReportServer? Right now, we are just opening SSRS and opening the solution file for the report. Thanks!
