Microsoft do not support SSMS on non-windows operating systems. If you have another piece of client software you'd like to connect to SQL Server, MS provide a linux ODBC driver - [ http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh568451.aspx][1]. The installation steps are here - [ http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh568454.aspx][2] If you're looking for a SQL Server query editing tool for linux, you might try something like SQuirreL ([ http://squirrel-sql.sourceforge.net/][3]), RazorSQL ([ http://razorsql.com/][4]) or the like [1]: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh568451.aspx [2]: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh568454.aspx [3]: http://squirrel-sql.sourceforge.net/ [4]: http://razorsql.com/

One option would be to set up a virtual machine within Linux and install SSMS within the VM.
