Attempted to download SQLEXPRADV_v86_ENU.exe. After about an hour of what appeared to be successful downloading, it appeared to freeze. Under Location, it reads "Running security scan..." and continues from last evening through the am this morning with no change showing 99% complete. I have Googled in search of a solution and not found any. My system seems to meet the requirements and are as follows; Windows Vista Home Basic w/Service Pack 2. 32 Bit Op System, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66 GHZ. I have 108 GB of free space. Trying to download in order to practice running queries from home to help me with my position of 90 days as Junior Software QA Tester with my company. Any suggestions or info for fixing would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
The download process is not specifically controlled by SQL Server. It has something to do with your computer or with the web site you're downloading from. Focus on those areas. Run tracert or ping to see what the latency is between you and the system you're downloading from. Ensure you have enough storage room on your system, that kind of thing.
