SSIS Error executed throu SQL Agent

Hi! A package in production is giving an error Executed as user: ABCD\svc_sql_abcdvm007. Started: 2:00:00 AM Finished: 2:26:46 AM Elapsed: 1606.28 seconds. The package execution failed. The step failed. It did not return any error - how to debug in this situation where there is no error and how to make sure we get a meaningful message when the package fails Appreciate all the help thanks a lot

First, check the SQL Agent error logs. There is frequently more information there than is shown in the Agent Monitor output. If there is no information there, then you need to enable logging for the job step. You can go to the step on the job, edit it on the advanced tab. There you have two choice, establish an output file (my preferred choice) which will spit out all output from the execution of the step into a file you designate. The other option is to have the step output go into the history of the job. This makes the information more accessible, but also makes your history listing pretty messy.
