Queue Reader Error

Hello, i have the following error in our productive replication enviroment: The Queue Reader Agent has encountered the error 'Another queuereader agent for the subscription or subscriptions is running, or the server is working on a previous request by the same agent.' when connecting to 'distribution' on 'DUMMY'. Ensure that the publication and subscription are defined properly and that both servers are running. Steps we already did: - Stop SQL Server Agent and check DISTRIB.exe in Task Manager (+kill) - several restarts of the job i enabled 'logging to a file' (heres the tail of the output) 2013-10-21 11:51:52.313 OLE DB QueueReader 'DUMMY': {call sp_MSensure_single_instance('Queue Reader Main (distribution)', 9)} 2013-10-21 11:51:52.351 The Queue Reader Agent has encountered the error 'Another queuereader agent for the subscription or subscriptions is running, or the server is working on a previous request by the same agent.' when connecting to 'distribution' on 'DUMMY'. You mentioned you tried some steps but did you "Ensure that the publication and subscription are defined properly and that both servers are running" as it mentions in the error message? If you can narrow down the source of the error can you drop the replication and recreate?
