I would like to pass a month parameter in SQL

whereby in ssrs, the user would be able to select a month and the values for the month will be displayed or the user can select all the months from jan to date and it will display all values for that period. thanks

You'll need a multi-value parameter. You can either pass the parameter into your query where you would split it and filter the query results or you can let the query return everything and set up filter within the report using the parameter and the IN operator. Here is a brief article that covers both approaches: [ http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2866/sql-server-reporting-services-using-multivalue-parameters/][1] [1]: http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2866/sql-server-reporting-services-using-multivalue-parameters/
