Transactional Replication

I am setting up transactional replication and i set the publisher and when i get to the place where agent security is supposed to show up i don't get that screen. When i set a subscription for that publisher it does not show up in the list on the server replication. I know i am probably not making much sense. This isn't the first one i've created but nothing is acting the way it should.

I think i may have made progress but now the articles i selected for replication are not showing up in the replicated database? Any ideas

has the snapshot agent finished?

yes it generated 8 articles.

If you launch replication monitor, what does it show you?

it shows the green arrow like it is running. under all subscriptions it says status never started. under agent tabbed snapshot completed log reader agent running.
