Back up DB with dash in DBname by maintenanceplan

Running maintenance plans in SQL 2008 R2 fails on DB's with dashes or long names. Is it possible to backup such databases in a job created by maintenanceplan?

I have always used custom scripts such as [Ola Hallengren's]( http://ola.hallengren.com/), I am not sure you can modify the maintenance plan to include brackets [] to enclose the db names with dashes in the name.
