Is SSRS Report Model being discontinued in SQL Server 2012?

I have read that the report model structure is being phased out in the newer versions of SSRS and that it will be replaced by PowerPivot. However, I have started playing with PowerPivot and it does not offer anywhere near the same functionality that I need for my adhoc report builders. I cannot seem to find a definitive answer as to whether or not the report model is definitely going away in SQL Server 2012. Anyone out there know?

According to the [Deprecation List on MSDN][1], yes, Report Models will be going away at some point. They are still supported although the tools don't support creating or editing them. That's all I know. I'm not an SSRS person. [1]: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143509(v=sql.110).aspx
