Licence for sql server

Hello i got the new infra ready for the sq server installation but the customer has not given the account information for downloading the sql server 2012 standard edition.my question is can i download the sql server 2012 standard edition first and ask the customer to purchase the license later. can any one suggest the process how to proceed.

As far as I know, you can download the SQL Server Standard ED, and you can use it for up to 180 days then after that you can call Microsoft support for the further licensing procedure!
