certification sql

I have 3 years of SQL experience using SQL server 2005 and 2008 R2. I was wanting to know if there is a list of certification sites to get certified in SQL Server 2005 or 2008R2. I mainly write queries. I do not deal with Database Administration or anything higher that that, just writing queries. I know that Microsoft has a certification and Brainbench also. I looked at Comptia but i did not see a certification for any sql. I looked at sql-ex.ru but i do not feel comfortable giving them information since it is in another country.

Have you looked at this site from Microsoft? I believe the there are only two paths as of now SQL 2012 and 2008 with the 2008 version being dropped soon. You would be much better off going towards the 2012 cert as that is the future where 2005 is now several versions old. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/sql-certification.aspx

@sqlaj, Yes I have looked at it. I was just wondering if there was a list of other SQL certification sites besides Microsoft. The last time I looked at Microsoft I believe there certifications are aimed at Database Administration and higher lever things in SQL

There are several paths for certification. Database Administration is one of them. External companies/sites administer the testing for certification. I don't think you are going to find one that still has 2005 certs since MS does not have that cert any longer.

@sqlaj The company that I work for uses SQL 2008 R2. I do not believe they are going to upgrade to 2012 anytime soon. I am just wanting to aim for SQL 2008 R2 primarily.

Better hurry then the time is limited for 2008 certification. Dates should be posted, I want to say it was the end of July but it may have been changed. Good luck.
