Hello i am installing sql server 2008 version 10.0.1600.22 then in the middle after selecting all the componants then clicking on next gave me the following error: Method not found: 'Boolean Microsoft.SqlServer.Configeration.MsiExtensionMetadata.get_IsSlipstreamOrPatch()'.. can any one suggest how to proceed my installation.

are you running the installation as an administrator level account? Hello, i am running the installation on a laptop provided by the company. my user name was in the administrator group only.i didnt checked the download with md5 i will do that. setup is on my local drive. i am running it on local file. i am having already sql server standard edition on my machine. i havent uninstalled it and trying to install the sql server 2008. is this throwing the error.

OK, so you mention that the OS is not meeting the requirements for SQL 2008 R2. Your only option would be to install a virtualisation program on your laptop and create a virtual server with the necessary operating system and then install SQL Server on that. Or upgrade your laptop. Or install a different (older) version of SQL Server

Hello as i can see the prerequisites for the sql server 2008 installation is minimum windows server 2003 sp2 is required i think but i am having microsoft windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 3 on my machine is it possible for me to install the sql server 2008.please suggest is there any way other than upgrading the os
