my sql server 2008 r2 evaluation version is expired and now i want to store the express edition of sql server 2008 express but i am unable to install it when iam install express it's goes final stage of installation and then it says evluation period is expired advance thanks

Are you sure you have the Express Edition media? I believe you might need to remove the eval version prior to installing. i uninstalled evaluation version and then i installed express but still it says evaluation period expired

Did you reboot between the uninstall and install?

As mentioned in a comment, I would uninstall the evaluation edition. However, when you go to install express, are you choosing to upgrade the instance or install a new instance altogether? If you are going to upgrade the expired instance, I can see why there'd be that error.
