Used the following method to drop distribution database use master go alter database distribution set offline; drop database distribution; I no longer have distribution database listed in the system databases. However when I try to create a distribution database, rt click on the replication, cannot configure distribution database, but it is showing Distributor Properties. Also in Microsoft SQL Server folderData distribution database is existing also the distribution databse jobs are existing. Please advice how I can delete distribution database.

can you please check you followed the steps mentioned http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324401 I have followed the link above but the issue is I have not followed the steps of removal. I deleted the publisher and subscriber by hand instead of running disable publishing and distribution. I also deleted the distribution database by hand which did not delete the distribution database from the data folder. So any way do I uninstall and install sqlserver again?
