I am using the following link to setup snapshot replication http://www.databasejournal.com/features/mssql/article.php/1458491/Setting-Up-Snapshot-Replication-A-Step-by-step-Guide.htm I have sqlserver 2008r2 on a windows 2008 server. I would like to create the distribution database on a different server to potentially reduce the over-head at the publisher. In order to build that do I use the distribution database on server A, Publication database on Server B (where the database resides) and connect to Server C for the subscriber database?

Is this a similar question to http://ask.sqlservercentral.com/questions/92400/create-distribution-database.html ?
Yes that is right.
Were the answers in that post not informative enough?
Not quiet. I wanted to know I could build separate distribution database, publisher database where the database resides and Subscriber database on another server.
I would advise you update all of your questions so that other people landing on the site know if the help given was useful.
