Difference between static and dynamic port for sql server

Hi All,

Can anyone tell the difference Difference between static and dynamic port for sql server?

Actually i need to set static port for sql server. so please help me out which would be work fine for sql server

I want to know about static and dynamic port. why we require static port what is the use of that and what will it impact on SQL Server. Also, same about dynamic port. please do the needful.
