Are you getting an error message? If so, can you post it?

Definitelly post more information like error message, information whether you are connecting to default or named instance. And first of all, check, that you have ports opne in the firewall.

In addition to the said above, you must know that by default Analysis Services only supports Windows Authentication. If you are in a situation where you are logged into a domain and your desktop machine is outside the domain OR you are not logged into the system with an authenticated user, this will not work and HTTP authentication is your only choice.

However, if there is no domain, then you can create users with same name/password on the server and desktop machine to make it work.
