We have sql server 2005 workgroup edition(say it "Dserver1") installed on window server 2003(say it WServer1). This window server is connected with another linux based server(say it LServer1). LServer is connected with 30 XP based client machines. plz find network diagram for above setup from here : link text These XP based clients sends SQL commands to Wserver1 via LServer1 and they are executed in WServer1. We have 1 running system with above setup and its running very well. Now we are planning to setup one extra system with same setup environment. But we can't do the same. Can any body help in how to configure widow server & sql server 2005 for above setup?

So, no documentation, no idea how the system was setup? At present, and without any other information, there is no way that we can help you. If the systems are standard installs, then start off with that and go from there. This time, make sure to document what you have done.

Nothing sounds like you're doing anything completely unheard of. Follow the documentation for setting up each of the servers and then connect them together. When in doubt look at, but don't change, the original setup.

If you have set this up successfully before, why can't you set it up again?
Yeah, you lost me too. What's the problem?
actually this setup was done before 4 years by the other employee of our company and now they had left the company.........
i agree with you WilliamD, There must be proper documenation for each and every installation but now i am helpless as i dont have anything as reference.
can we install/configure sql server 2005 for another window server exist in LAN?
Yes. People install hundreds of SQL Server instances within a network. You just have to configure it to work within your network. Again, standard stuff defined by the user documentation that comes with SQL Server.
