Can not deploy SSRS 2008 reports on report server?

I am trying to deploy my SSRS 2008 reports on Test report server but I am getting this error.

An internal error occured on the report server. See the error log.

When i checked i found

System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.RdlObjectModel, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.File name: 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.RdlObjectModel, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91

i can't understand how to solve this. Please help me ?

First step - restart Reporting Services service and try again.

Then, if the issue persists, grant the account that is running the SSRS service read/write permissions to "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary \ASP.NET Files"

Hi Kev,

Thanks for reply. I tried to restart the reporting service. But still error is coming.

Is there any other way. As I was able to deploy reports before. I just delete the folder from report server. And tried again to deploy since then I am facing this problem.

AFAIK, Microsoft.ReportingServices.RdlObjectModel.dll was unsupported and was available in SSRS 2008. In SSRS 2008 R2, it was marked as internal so one cannot use this assembly. Instead, this got moved into the Microsoft.ReportingServices.Designer.Controls.dll assembly. Why am I telling you this? Simply, to identify what could be the reasons. At the moment, I can think of

  1. Your Test report server may not be 2008
  2. If it is 2008, then the said DLL is not placed in ..DEFAULTPATHTOSSRS\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin folder
  3. if it is in the right place, then the permissions are not correct

So, if any of the above is the case, then share it with us. Moreover, which folder did you delete? Please mention that as well.

Thanks for reply Usman.

Strange thing i noticed. I checked the web.config file and there was impersonation 'False'.

I made it to true. And after that I was able to deploy reports. But thanks for telling in what areas i could think of.

New code box

There's a new way to format code on the site - the red speech bubble logo will automatically format T-SQL for you. The original code box is still there for XML, etc. More details here.
