Hi all, I'm creating a report in 2008 R2 that uses data bars in a column in a table. It would be useful to add a legend and scale somewhere (the column header, perhaps), but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this in BIDS. Can anyone suggest how to add a legend or x-axis scale for the data bars? Thanks Note: I've edited this post to attach two images. One of what I have, and one of what I would like.

Unfortunately, you are asking for features which are not available for Data Bars. Data Bars have the same basic chart elements of categories, series, and values, but they have no legend, axis lines, labels, or tick marks. @Usman: Yes, I know these chart elements are not available for data bars. I'm hoping some of you out there have discovered some useful and clever way to emulate this :)

Those sort of things depends upon the needs and in most cases may not be applicable to all scenarios. But I do not understand why you need a legend for Data Bars? Anyways, this blog has a very impressive usage of Data Bars. It may guide you in right direction.

@Usman Butt: My data bar is stacked, so a legend in the header of the column containing the data bar that indicated what series the different colours are would be very useful.

Can you please give an example with visuals? I hope you know the differences b/w bar charts, column charts and data bars. The most difficult part is when to use them :)

I've edited my original post to attach images of what I have and what I'd like to achieve.
