VSTS load test result--profiler and average page response

Hi I am using VSTS for load test and saving the trace data in a trace file.

The trace file shows proc execution time a 400 milliseconds.

but average page response time is 30 seconds.

How to find what is taking so much time? Total number user is 300.

You haven't really given enough information to make a sensible judgement. Try answering some of these questions:

  • What is your page doing?
  • There are 300 total users, but how many are logged in at once, and how often do they make page requests?
  • How loaded is your SQL server?
  • Is your web server running on a separate machine?
  • Page response is 30 seconds - but is that the time it takes to create the page on the server, or the time it takes for the client to fully load it?
  • Is the page response time just taking into account HTML generation, or is it payload as well?

  1. Page has one linq query and the response time in profiler is less than a second. 2.Average 184 users. It starts with 50 user and ramps up to 300 with 1 minute interval.
  2. Only one application(which is VSTS) is connecting. Hardware is 2 GB and 1.8 xeon cpu.CPU spikes to 60 to 90% 4.Page has one linq query and it calculates a value and show the data as simple text. It does not aspx control. Page response time means time taken to fully load the page per VSTS.
5. Its complete page load. But there is realy not HTML just one tag.

@banand2k1 - so how long does the linq query take to execute in the page, without doing any of the calculation?

The question helped me look at the specific variables, and certainly gave me better understanding.

New code box

There's a new way to format code on the site - the red speech bubble logo will automatically format T-SQL for you. The original code box is still there for XML, etc. More details here.
