SQL Server 2005 Express Edition


Can we connect any edition of SQL Server using SQL Server Management Studio 2005 Express Edition?

For example; can we use SQL Server Management Studio 2005 Express to connect to SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition ?

yes you can. there may be a few features that will be missing or disabled when compared the the SSMS that is installed from the paid-for editions so you might want to install those instead. They obviously can manage SS Express instances
